Several cluster selection strategies were described in Section 7.2.4. Which of these strategies finds a good cluster with respect to the client’s LDNS? Which of these strategies finds a good cluster with respect to the client itself?

Answer

After reading the several cluster selection strategies in the section 7.2.4 from the text book.

  • CDN (Content Distribution Network) strategy is a good cluster with respect to the client’s LDNS (Local Domain Name Server). The reason is that  it selects the nearest cluster if a request is received from a specified LDNS.
  • BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) strategy is a good cluster with respect to the client itself. The  reason is that the client’s packets will be routed  in the Internet through nearst cluster.
