There are hundreds of softwares used in the medical industry to keep

patients health records, prescribing softwares, remote patient monitoring, Diagnosis softwares...etc

Out of those Medical Image Analysis softwares plays one crucial role

which helps radiologists with imaging and visualization of an ever-growing amount of data. This softwares helps visualize the data outputs from CT scans and 

MRI scans to evaluate the patient's condition.

From the patient's perspective, it means faster diagnosis of disease and better service availability.

This software can be labeled as lift critical software, malfunctions in the software can have critical implications on the patient.

 

 

Softwares Used in air traffic control:

 

Air Traffic Control softwares plays a vital role in giving instructions to planes that are about to be land.

On average there are 9728 planes cruising in the sky at any given time in a day. To ensure the safety of landing ATC controllers coordinate the movements of Thousands of aircraft for safe takeoff and landing...These people depend on the ATC softwares to direct the plane during landing

Any malfunctions in the softwares can be catastrophic and can cause Hundreds of fatalities.

Nuclear power plants depend on softwares to process the data collected from Thousands of sensors.

They collect the data from the sensors and shows the system flow path

This softwares trigger the alarm when some sensors indicate abnormal conditions like stream pressures, low water levels, etc...

failing in so, implications can be beyond catastrophic.

 

Software applications are not just tools, they are integrated into human living to the point where we live on their mercy.
