Answer

(a) A Linear function is a function with degree 1.

f(x)=4x+5

The above equation is an example of linear function.

(b) A Power function is a function that is the product of a real number, a coefficient, and a variable raised to a fixed real number.

f(x)=2x^{3}

The above equation is an example of power function.

(c) An Exponential function is a function that a constant is raised to the power of a variable.

f(x)=4^{x}

The above equation is an example of power function.

(d) A Quadratic function is a function with degree 2.

f(x)=5x^{2}+2x+3

The above equation is an example of quadratic function.

(e) Polynomial of degree 5 is cobination of terms with atleast one term having a power raised to 5. Each term can be the product of a real number, a coefficient, and a variable raised to a fixed real number.

8x^{5}+2x^{3}+3x^{2}

The above expression is an example of polynomial of degree 5.

(f) A Rational function is a function written as a fraction with polynomials in its numarator and in its denominator.

f(x) =\frac{x^{2}+2x+1}{x^{4}+3x^{2}+2x}

The above equation is an example of rational function.
