Ans: (a) Decimal number 6248 can be represented in BCD as

                 0110 0010 0100 1000 

(b) excess-3 is represented by adding 3 to each decimal digit and writing its 4 bit binary number of each digit.  

               6248 in excess-3 is  1001 0101 0111 1011  

(c) 2421 code: This code is a 4 bit application code where the binary weights carry 2, 4, 2, 1 from left to right. 

              6248 in 2421 code is represented as 0110 0010 0100 1110

(d) 6311 code: converting decimal number 6248 to 4 bit binary number digit by digit whose weights carry 6,3,1,1 from left to right.

       6248 in 6311 code is 1000 0011 0101 1011
