Fig. P1.8 from point A to point B. If the energy absorbed by
the element is 120 J, determine the voltage across the
element.

Answer

Given that charge Q= 5C
 
  Energy w= 120J

  Given that energy is observed by the element so the sign of the power is 

  Positive.

From sign convention w =v *Q

  v =w*Q
   = 120/5
    = 24v

Therefore voltage across the given element is 24v.
