Question

Lab 2: Updating and Improving the Steve’s Screen Services Website
Problem: You work for a screening company called Steve’s Screen Services that specializes in
screening, cleaning, and repairing screened patios. You have created a responsive website for the
business, but now need to update and improve the website. You update content on the home page.
Then you update the style sheet to improve the website. The updated home page is shown in
Figure 12–28. The updated services page is shown in Figure 12–29. The updated desktop gallery
page is shown in Figure 12–30.

Instructions: Perform the following tasks:
1. Open the index.html document and update the comment at the top of the page to include today’s date.
2. Insert an h2 element below the last paragraph element within the desktop div class and include
    the text, Special 15% Discount This Month, within the h2 element.
3. Open gallery.html in your text editor and remove the autoplay attribute from the audio tag.
4. Open screenstyles.css in your text editor and create a new style rule for the h2 element that
     centers text within the tablet media query.
5. Create a new style rule for main paragraph elements that species left and right padding of
1em within the tablet media query.
6. Locate the style rule for the hover pseudo class within the desktop media query and remove the
    font size property and style and change the color property value to #9DBDF5.
7. Locate the style rule for the section element within the desktop media query and update the
    width property value to 25%.
8. Update the desktop media query minimum width to 1050px.
9. Save your changes and review the home page, services page, and the gallery page in a desktop viewport.

10. Validate your HTML code and fix any errors.
11. Validate your CSS code and fix any errors.
12. Submit your assignment in the format specified by your instructor.
13. In this chapter, you learned about browser compatibility testing. Research the web for an
      online resource that can test a webpage in multiple browsers and summarize your findings.
