Commonly, programs are referred to as software. Software is essential to install into a computer because software controls everything that are doing by computer.

A programmer, or software developer or software engineer, is a person with the training and skills necessary to design, create, and test computer programs. Computer programming is an exciting and rewarding career. The working done by programmers used in business, medicine, government, law enforcement, agriculture, academics, entertainment, and many other fields.
